We’re big fans of oddball baseball cards because, back in the day, they were a great way to get big vintage stars’ cards at reasonable prices.
In the days before there were dozens of different regular-issue sets each season, the cards issued by food and beverage companies, gas stations and other retailers provided collectors with a fascinating variety of collecting options.
What’s your favorite oddball baseball card issue of all time? Some of our favorites are 1961 Post, 1954 Redman, 1954 Red Heart Dog Food and 1955 Johnston Cookies. Kellogg’s baseball cards are always a big hit, too.
